Cole X-Dates Alternatives in 2026: An Honest Comparison for Agents
Maverick Data · Jul 27, 2026
TLDR
- Cole X-Dates is gone. As of July 16, 2026, coleinformation.com serves a court-ordered domain seizure notice and the successor subdomain, xdates.xpressdocs.com, fails DNS.
- Four real replacements exist: Bresser's, Dataman Group, Haines, and Maverick Data.
- On price per contact, Maverick Data wins by an order of magnitude: $0.002 per contact ($100 per state per month with 50,000 credits) versus roughly 3 to 12 cents at Bresser's and Haines.
- Maverick Data is also the only one with pricing published on the page, self-serve signup, an API, and DNC status disclosed on every record.
- Scoped exceptions: Bresser's if you want flood-zone targeting or list-plus-mail in one vendor, Dataman for a single one-off list, and either if your state isn't live with us yet (Texas, Kansas, and Missouri are today).
Cole X-Dates is gone. If you built your renewal prospecting on Cole, you need a replacement, and there are four real options in 2026: Bresser's, Dataman Group, Haines, and Maverick Data. We sell one of these products, so read this as an opinionated comparison from inside the market. We'll show the per-contact math for every provider, name the clear winner, and tell you plainly where a competitor is the better pick anyway.
What happened to Cole X-Dates?
Here's what's publicly observable, without speculating about the legal details.
Cole Information sold its assets to Xpressdocs, a Fort Worth direct marketing company, in a deal dated October 11, 2024 (PitchBook). Mirus Capital Advisors, who advised Cole on the sale, lists the transaction publicly. Xpressdocs announced the acquisition and rebranded the platform as Xpressdocs Data Solutions.
Then things went dark. When we checked on July 16, 2026:
- coleinformation.com returns a page titled "Domain Seizure Notice" stating the domain "has been seized pursuant to a Court order," with a contact address at a law firm.
- xdates.xpressdocs.com, where the product moved after the acquisition, fails DNS entirely. There's no page there, not even an error.
- Even the Xpressdocs press release announcing the acquisition currently returns a server error.
We don't know the specifics of the court order, and we won't guess. What matters for you as an agent is practical: the product is unreachable, the pricing page is a seizure notice, and Bresser's states flatly that "Cole X-Dates Online has been discontinued." Decades of agents typing "cole x-dates" into Google are landing on dead pages.
Cole X-Dates alternatives at a glance
Every price below was verified on the vendor's own site on July 16, 2026. Links go to the pages we pulled them from.
| Vendor | Model | Verified price | Phone / email included | Platform | Coverage model |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bresser's Property Connect | Subscription platform | $119/mo (1,000 exports) or $895 to $4,495/yr | Email yes; phone only on emailed lists | Map-based web app | Per state |
| Bresser's emailed lists | Monthly list delivery | $149/mo (address only) or $179/mo (phone + email), 2,000 records | On the $179 tier | None (CSV by email) | Your territory |
| Dataman Group | One-off list orders | Minimums from $185, quote by phone | Where available | None | ZIP, county, radius |
| Haines Property Connect | Subscription platform | $119/mo or $895 to $4,495/yr | Per plan | Web app | Per state |
| Maverick Data | Self-serve subscription | $100/state/mo, 50,000 export credits ($1,000/state/yr annual) | Phone, email, address, DNC status on every record | Web app + API | Per state (KS, MO, TX live) |
One oddity worth flagging: Bresser's and Haines both market a platform called "Property Connect," with near-identical plan names and prices. They're separate companies with separate salespeople, so confirm with whichever one you call exactly what you're buying.
What does each alternative cost per contact?
Sticker prices hide the real comparison, because every vendor bundles a different volume. Divide the price by the contacts included and the market splits wide open. Every per-contact rate below is our arithmetic on the same cited prices from the table above: price divided by included export volume, assuming you use the full allowance.
| Provider and plan | Published price | Contacts included | Price per contact |
|---|---|---|---|
| Maverick Data, monthly | $100/state/mo | 50,000 credits/mo | $0.002 (0.2 cents) |
| Bresser's Property Connect, top annual tier | $4,495/yr | 30,000 exports/mo (360,000/yr) | ~$0.012 (1.2 cents) |
| Bresser's Property Connect, Core annual | $895/yr | 2,500 exports/mo (30,000/yr) | ~$0.030 (3 cents) |
| Bresser's emailed lists, address only | $149/mo | 2,000 records/mo | ~$0.075 (7.5 cents) |
| Bresser's emailed lists, phone + email | $179/mo | 2,000 records/mo | ~$0.090 (9 cents) |
| Bresser's Property Connect, monthly | $119/mo | 1,000 exports/mo | ~$0.119 (11.9 cents) |
| Haines Property Connect | $119/mo to $4,495/yr | Varies by tier | Same published plan prices as Bresser's; at matching volumes the math lands in the same 1.2 to 11.9 cent band. Confirm tier volumes on their pricing page. |
| Dataman Group | Minimums from $185, quote by phone | Not published | Not computable from published prices; the $185 minimum sets your floor per order. |
Read that top row again. At full allowance, Maverick Data runs $0.002 per contact. The cheapest per-contact rate anywhere else, Bresser's $4,495 bulk tier, is about six times that, and you have to commit $4,495 a year to get it. Against the plans most single agents actually buy, the $119 monthly platform or the $179 emailed list, we're 45 to 60 times cheaper per contact.
Two honest footnotes on the math. Almost nobody exports their full allowance, so run these numbers against the volume you'll realistically work; a cheap plan you underuse costs more per worked lead than an expensive one you fill. And per-contact price isn't the same as per-contact value: a record without a phone number can't feed a dialer, which is why the table notes what each tier includes.
Bresser's: the incumbent's incumbent
Bresser's has been in the directory business since 1946, and their X-dates page is aimed squarely at former Cole customers. The platform runs $119 a month for 1,000 exports in one state, with annual tiers at $895 (2,500 exports/month), $1,395, $3,595, and $4,495 for 30,000 exports a month. If you don't want another login, they'll email you 2,000 records monthly for $149 (address only) or $179 (with phone and email), plus $0.035 to $0.075 per extra record.
When Bresser's is the better choice: you want prospecting angles beyond renewal timing. Their platform layers in FEMA flood zones, absentee owners, 30-day new movers, and mortgage records, and they're also a full direct mail shop if you want list and mailing under one roof. The trade-off: phone numbers aren't on the platform yet (their own FAQ says phone data is "on our roadmap"), so call-first agents need the pricier emailed lists, and even their best bulk rate runs about six times our price per contact.
Dataman Group: one-off lists, no subscription
Dataman doesn't sell a platform. You call them, define a geography by ZIP, county, or radius, and buy a list sorted by renewal month, with minimum orders starting at $185. Records include purchase date, home value, square footage, year built, and phone and email where available.
When Dataman is the better choice: you're running a defined, one-time campaign, say a spring mailer to two ZIP codes, and you have zero appetite for a subscription. Buying exactly one list once is genuinely cheaper than any monthly plan you'd underuse. The trade-offs: pricing requires a phone call, there's no published per-contact rate to compare, there's no self-serve filtering, and reordering fresh data each campaign adds up if you prospect year-round.
Haines: the property research angle
Haines has sold criss-cross directory data for over 90 years, and its insurance X-date product rides on Property Connect, priced at $119 a month or $895 to $4,495 a year depending on export volume. The X-date page itself doesn't show prices; you either dig into the pricing page or call.
When Haines is the better choice: you want property intelligence beyond a call list. Mortgage history, flood zones, mapping, and branded property reports make it a research tool as much as a prospecting tool, and agents who also do real estate or work referral partnerships get extra mileage. The trade-off: it's sales-led, the insurance page hides the numbers, and you're paying for research features a pure prospecting shop won't use.
The verdict: why Maverick Data wins
This is us, so weigh the bias, but the case doesn't rest on our opinion. It rests on four checkable facts.
Best price, and it isn't close. Maverick Data is $100 per state per month with 50,000 export credits included, or $1,000 per state annually. That's $0.002 per contact at full allowance, against 3 to 12 cents at the competitors' published plans and about 1.2 cents at Bresser's $4,495 bulk tier. The per-contact table above shows the whole market; we're the cheapest row by a factor of six even against the most expensive competitor commitment.
Honest DNC flags. We disclose DNC status on every record instead of quietly dropping flagged contacts to make the file look cleaner. Every record carries phone, email, address, property profile, and DNC status.
Honest methodology. Our X-date is a purchase-anniversary proxy, not a carrier-confirmed renewal date. Nobody's X-date is carrier-confirmed, including Cole's, which was built the same way. We're just the only ones who put that in writing.
Transparent, self-serve, modern. Our price is on the page; no "request a count" forms, no sales calls to learn a number. Signup is self-serve, exports are instant CSV, and everything the dashboard does the API does too, which matters if your agency runs on scripts and dialers.
When we're not the better choice: you only work states we haven't shipped yet (Kansas, Missouri, and Texas are live today), you want flood-zone or absentee-owner targeting, or you want a vendor who also prints and mails your postcards. Bresser's wins those cases. Inside our live states, for an agent who works phone, email, or mail off a list, we're the best product at the best price, and you can verify every number in this article on the vendors' own pages.
How should you pick?
Match the tool to your workflow, not the other way around.
Mail-first agents running scheduled campaigns should look at Dataman for one-off buys or Bresser's if they want list plus mail fulfillment in one vendor. Call-first agents need phone coverage and DNC visibility above all; that's our lane, or Bresser's $179 emailed tier if you're outside our live states. Ops-minded agencies that pipe data into CRMs and dialers automatically should weigh price per contact and API access; compare our docs against what a Property Connect rep tells you on the phone.
And if you'd rather not work lists at all, that's a different product category. Our sister company, Maverick Marketing, runs done-for-you outreach that delivers homeowner replies instead of raw data. Buying a list only pays off if someone actually works it.
